Responsibilities
  • Experience organizing, supporting, or supervising community outreach and engagement efforts.
  • Experience supervising part-time or full-time staff and/or community volunteers.
  • Experience developing and leading staff and/or volunteer trainings.
  • Experience working with historically marginalized communities, including households with low incomes and communities of color.
  • Coursework in historic preservation or urban planning.
  • Connections to local organizations serving historically marginalized communities.
  • Experience working as part of a highly collaborative team.
  • Familiarity with historic preservation principles.
  • Familiarity with historic preservation policies, programs, and activities in Austin.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from a four (4) year college or university with major coursework in Public Relations, Communications, Public Administration, Political Science, or a closely related field plus three (3) years of experience involving the development and coordination of public information or community outreach or involvement programs, or;
  • Masters Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Relations, Public Administration, Communications, Conflict Resolution, Peace Studies, or a closely related field plus one (1) year of experience involving the development and coordination of public information or community outreach or involvement programs, or;
  • Experience may substitute for education up to the maximum of four (4) years
