Nick Finio grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelor's degree in 2007 from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania where he majored in Economics with a minor in Classics. Nick worked as a research assistant at the Economic Policy Institute in Washington, DC for several years before earning his Master's degree in Community Planning from the University of Maryland. He is currently a PhD assistant for the National Center for Smart Growth Research and Education, where he works for Gerrit Knaap, his PhD advisor. His research interests include social and economic equity, access to opportunity, poverty, regional planning, and transportation planning.
