Julia Marchetti

Biography

Trained as an urban planner and historian, Julia is passionate about equitable development and climate justice at the neighborhood scale, recognizing communities as interconnected social, cultural, economic, and environmental ecosystems. She is interested in the idea of healing through community-led policy, design, and preservation interventions. Julia’s practice is rooted in meaningful engagement strategies that amplify community knowledge and power. Previously, Julia has worked with Community Design Collaborative, Fairmount Community Development Corporation, PennPraxis, The San Francisco Legacy Business Program, Passyunk Avenue Revitalization Corporation, and The American Planning Association. Julia holds masters’ degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in City and Regional Planning and Historic Preservation and a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University.
