Andrea Leers

Andrea Leers is an architect and educator based in Boston and a founding Principal of Leers Weinzapfel Associates. The firm was honored with the 2007 AIA Firm Award, the highest honor the AIA bestows on an architecture firm. In 2015 ARCHITECT magazine included the firm on its list of Top 50 Architecture Firms in the country, ranked 9th overall and 5th in sustainable design. A monograph on the firm’s work, Made to Measure: the Work of Leers Weinzapfel Associates was published in 2011 by Princeton Architectural Press.

She is the former Director of the Master in Urban Design Program and Adjunct Professor of Architecture and Urban Design at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and has taught at Yale, UPenn, UVA and the Tokyo Institute of Technology.  She is currently Commissioner for the Mayor’s Boston Civic Design Commission, and is a member of the University of Washington Architectural Commission. She serves on the U.S. General Services Administration’s Public Buildings Service National Register of Peer Professionals. Andrea is an Architectural Review, Architect of the Year 2017 finalist.
