We haven’t thought to reinvest in these neighborhoods.

In a special segment on Fox5 DC (WTTG-TV), called “Race to Equality,” Associate Professor of Urban Studies and Planning Willow Lung-Amam discusses how the ramifications of race-based policies and development structures have shaped the historically Black neighborhoods of cities like Washington, D.C., and created a foundation for enduring disinvestment.

“We haven’t thought to reinvest in these neighborhoods,” said Lung-Amam to WTTG’s reporter. “So that divide becomes more intense over time.” Watch the segment on Fox5 DC’s website.
