Esther White

Research Associate

Esther White is the Foundation Giving Officer at the National Building Museum.  With a background in fundraising and historical archaeology, her research interests include public interpretation of history and archaeology at historical sites, curation issues and material culture studies.  She is the author of numerous articles on eighteenth-century topics, including whiskey distilling, Mount Vernon’s gardens, and slave life and she loves working with students.  She holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina, M.A. from the College of William and Mary, and Ph.D. from the University of Leicester.
