South African Trip Explores Partnerships in Public Housing Education and Practice

MRED Director Maria Day-Marshall and Assistant Director Tanya Bansal traveled to South Africa this past summer to explore potential partnerships with South African universities around issues in public housing. Day-Marshall and Bansal joined a delegation, from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO), representing public housing authorities in Maryland, California, Texas, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The trip, which included visits to housing settlements and meetings with university representatives from Nelson Mandela University, University of KwaZulu-Natal and Durban University of Technology, opens the door to future collaborations, as well as professional and student exchanges and events.
