The Cemetery Preservation Ordinance of Anne Arundel County, Maryland

This study of the practical effect of the Anne Arundel County preservation ordinance illustrates the danger of treating historic cemeteries differently than other archaeological resources. If historic cemeteries in Anne Arundel County are to continue to have value and meaning archaeological research should be permitted when alternative contributes to the obsolescence of historic cemeteries
