Equipment List

The VRC has a variety of equipment available for use by faculty and students in the School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. Reservations should be made ahead of time by coming in person to the VRC and speaking with a curator about the equipment you wish to reserve.

These items are available for use:

  • 3 portable LCD Projectors – Panasonic, InFocus, Sony
  • 2 LCD projectors on carts, connected to MacMini computers – Panasonic, InFocus
  • 3 pairs of slide projectors on carts – Kodak Ektagraphic projectors
  • 2 TV/VCRs with video and DVD capability – Sony
  • Laser pointers – red light for classroom use, green light for auditorium use
  • Remotes for PowerPoint presentations
  • Document camera
  • Drawing devices (for tracing slides)
  • 3 digital cameras – Sony Cybershot
  •  2 video cameras  – 1 VHS and 1 digital; provide your own tape
  • 2 light sets that include lights, black cloths, tripod
  • Tripods

Additional Information for Students

AUDIO-VISUAL EQUIPMENT for class use is provided by the VRC. Sign-out sheets for all equipment are on the VRC Bulletin Board near the door.

CAMERAS, LIGHTS, AND TRIPODS are available for student documentation photography.  Whenever possible, reserve them ahead of time.

There are 35mm SLIDE PROJECTORS available for overnight or weekend loan.

Students need to provide their own compact VHS tape or digital video tape when using either of the video cameras.

DRAWING DEVICES that make it possible for you to draw from 35mm slides are available in the VRC.

STUDY TRAYS may be assembled for some courses by the faculty. Study trays left on reserve may be viewed between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
