Session Descriptions:
A) Sustainability: We all know what sustainability is from discussions about LEED, being members of the Emerging Green Builders, and from the Solar Decathlon. But what really is sustainability in terms of design and how is it being used in practice right now (and where is it going)? Find answers to these questions during the Sustainability Session.
B) The Firm: Come learn from architects from varying sized firms -- small, medium, and large as they discuss the advantages, the firm's work and other aspects of the firm.
C) Future Trends in the Profession: What will architectural practice be in the year 2040? Come hear some thoughts about the future of architectural practice -- Building Information Modeling (BIM), Integrated Practice, Global Practice, etc.
D) Non-Traditional Careers: What do you do if you do not become an architect? Learn how alumni from Maryland have used their architectural educations and made successful careers in related disciplines.
E) Recent Alumni Panel: What you wish you knew a year ago -- a panel discussion with recent UMD graduates. Come hear from recent graduates, both undergraduate and graduate, discuss their professional careers since graduation. What have they accomplished in their new positions?
