Study Abroad

The resources of the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area are many, but your education at the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation can be further enriched by diverse study-abroad opportunities.

Study-abroad programs (please note that not all programs are offered each year):

  • St. Petersburg Summer 2012
Since 1995, the University of Maryland?s School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation has taught summer interdisciplinary study abroad courses for students in the historic city of Saint Petersburg, Russia. The program offers students a case study of a historic European city and its adaptation to a changing modern society; balancing contemporary urban development with historic preservation and managing the challenges of becoming an emerging market economy. • Orissa, India - 2009
