CURRENT RESEARCH PROJECTS

Recent research has included new street guidelines for the Institute of Transportation Engineers and Congress for the New Urbanism; the development of urban sprawl indices for U.S. counties and metropolitan areas for Smart Growth America; the first national study of the relationship between the built environment and chronic health problems for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation; a study of school location and its effects on student travel for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, as well as a guidebook on context-sensitive highway design for the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
