Joshua Cole joined the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation’s Information Technology Group as Technology Development & Training Analyst in August 2007.  Josh’s areas of responsibilities include systems development and integration, project management, assurance of appropriate management, performance and capacities of the School’s IT facilities and computer labs, development and delivery of training programs, and research, evaluation and implementation of innovative technologies and best practices to improve and maximize the effectiveness of technology systems and services.

Josh has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer information systems from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University.  He has eight years experience in the information technology field.  He worked as Technical Analyst for Cargill, Inc. in Minnesota, where he was responsible for provision of extensive and comprehensive client support and training services as well as management of systems implementation and upgrade projects for multiple branch offices in the Midwest and Canada.  Prior to joining the University of Maryland, Josh worked as IT Support and Training Specialist for Defenders of Wildlife, a nonprofit organization in Washington, DC; in this capacity, he coordinated and provided a wide range of technology support and innovative training services, and planned and managed special IT projects.
