Professor Thomas L. Schumacher and Assistant Professor Michael A. Ambrose contributed essays to a new architectural monograph featuring the work of Giovanni Caprioglio. The monograph, Giovanni Caprioglio – Space and Context – Recent Architecture, was recently published by Il Poligrafo.

Professor Ambrose wrote the introduction to the book, in which he discusses a visit he made to the offices of Caprioglio Associati last summer with students from the University of Maryland's 2007 Italy Program in Architecture.

Professor Schumacher's essay, "The Context is Also Modern," examines the work of the Caprioglio office within a broader discussion of contextualism and modernity.
