Jeff Tiell, a Ph.D. student in Urban and Regional Planning and Design, has received an International Conference Student Support Award (ICSSA) from the Graduate School at the University of Maryland towards his participation in the Just City Symposium in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in February 2011. This Symposium is designed as an interactive program in which an international academic community of urban planners and human geographers is triggered to exchange their knowledge about the most recent developments in urban theories and issues of the postindustrial and ‘just' city.
