6:00 to 7:00 pm - The Planning Field
Invited URSP alumni will be asked to speak about their professional careers working in the Planning field and then take questions from the audience. Panelists to include Heather Whitlow (Casey Trees), Rachel Fitzgerald (Government Services Processes), Jeff Davis (DC Office of Planning), Stephanie L. Williams (Bozzuto Development Company)

7:00 to 8:00 pm - Small groups
Panelists will be joined by other alumni for informal conversations based on planning interest areas.

Short biographies of the confirmed panelists:
Heather Whitlow
... the Director of Planning & Design at Casey Trees, a non-profit whose mission is to restore and protect the tree canopy of Washington, DC. She works closely with city and federal agencies, consultant teams, and developers to promote policies and designs that increase the District's green infrastructure. Prior to joining Casey Trees, Heather spent several years a transportation planner in local and regional government, working on bike and pedestrian facilities, asset management programs, and GIS modeling. She received a Master of Community Planning from the University of Maryland in 2001.

Rachel Fitzgerald
.. . who graduated from the Urban Studies and Planning program in May 2007 with a specialization in land use and  environmental planning.  She also holds BAs in Public Policy and Environmental Studies from the College of William  and Mary. Since graduation, she has worked as a planner with Government Services Integrated Process Team, a small, women-owned A/E firm located in Lanham, Maryland Government Services IPT focuses on federal planning,  architecture, and engineering projects with various DoD agencies, the Coast Guard, NASA, and FEMA.

Jeff Davis, AICP
... is the Neighborhood Planner for Ward 6. Prior to joining the DC Office of Planning in September 2006, Jeff worked for three years as the Community Planning Manager for Montgomery Housing Partnership, a non-profit affordable housing  organization in Montgomery County, Maryland. His work there involved neighborhood revitalization planning,  affordable housing policy, and local economic development. Jeff was raised outside Fresno, California and holds a  Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Whitworth College in Spokane, WA. He received his Master of Community Planning in 2003 from the University of Maryland at College Park, with a focus on design. He is a member of the American Planning Association.

Stephanie L. Williams
... As Development Manager for Bozzuto Development Company, Stephanie is primarily responsible for expanding market rate and mixed-income development opportunities in the District of Columbia metropolitan area.  To that end, she manages the development process of multi-family housing from preliminary financing feasibility through construction completion and lease-up.  Since its inception, Bozzuto has been committed to the development of all housing types for all individuals.  To assist with effort, Stephanie focuses principally on the company's affordable  housing initiative by continuing to develop and expand relationships with non-profits, church groups, community development corporations and others.
