Helka Moilanen, PhD Student
Helka Moilanen is a visiting PhD student from the University of Turku, Finland. Her dissertation deals with regional development zones in Finland, and European spatial development in more general. She did her Master's degree in the University of Oulu in 2007 in applied geography and regional planning, and currently she is doing her doctoral degree in human geography.
Helka is interested in regional development and planning, and also smart growth and urban planning practices in the United States. She is doing an article-based dissertation and has published few papers dealing with regional and spatial development theories and practices in Finland and Europe.
