Qiao Yu, PhD Student

Qiao Yu is a doctoral candidate studying land use and urban change in China. After earning his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Renmin University of China, Qiao chose the University of Maryland for its unparalleled access to national and international governments, research institutes and variety of urban development. Qiao appreciates the program?s cross-disciplinary flexibility. ?Since I can take courses across the campus and outside the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, I have access to a diverse and rich academic education that provides a solid basis to my own interests of information technology and globalization. The School's faculty includes worldwide acknowledged scholars that provide guidance, yet encourage independent and innovative research.
