Joe Costanzo, PhD
Completing his joint doctorate in Urban Studies and Planning (University of Maryland, USA) and Sciences politiques et sociales (Université de Liège, Belgium) in late 2012, Joe's doctoral work - set in Brussels, Belgium - explores the role of 'practicing local culture' in immigrant integration.
His broader scholarly interests include: research design and methods (QUAN+QUAL+MXD), migration and integration (cohesion) policy and indicators, urban studies and urban governance, collective movements, culture and cultural policy and the role of social science in public policy.
Further, Joe has designed and taught graduate-level research methods courses at American and European universities and, was a recognized government expert on immigration working for over ten years as an social scientist and policy analyst for the U.S. Government and non-governmental organizations.
Joe holds a Master's Degree in Applied Demography and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science.
