Chao Liu is interested in transportation, urban spatial structure as well as the GIS application in the aforementioned areas. She holds a masters degree in Geography from the Beijing Normal University and a bachelors degree in urban studies and planning from the Beijing Union University. In the past, Chao mainly focused on population distribution and its relationship with transportation in Beijing. Recently, she is working with Dr. Qing Shen and conducting a research on transportation and land use changes in Maryland.
