Andrea Livi Smith holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture Studies and Comparative Literature, awarded with honors from Brown University as well as a Master’s degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Vermont. Andi’s research interests included urban design, historic preservation, transportation and public health. She completed her dissertation on “The Relationship between Neighborhood Environment and Walking Behavior: The Influence of Perceptions” under the advisement of Kelly Cliffton. Andi is currently the Director of the Center for Historic Preservation and an assistant professor within the Department of Arts and Sciences at the University of Mary Washington.
