Andrea Livi Smith holds a master's degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Vermont and a bachelor's degree in Architecture Studies and Comparative Literature, awarded with honors, from Brown University. Andi's research interests include urban design, historic preservation, transportation and public health. She is particularly interested in the relationship between the built environment and walking behavior, which is the topic of her dissertation. Andi recently taught a master's level historic preservation course entitled Industrial America: History, Preservation and Reuse. She has been awarded an Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship three years running and was recently awarded an Active Living Research Dissertation Fellowship.
