The Elizabeth D. Alley Visual Resources Collection, named for the curator who founded the collection in 1967, is conveniently located in room 1107 of the School of Architecture building. With over 330,000 slides, and an annual growth rate of approximately 10,000, this collection is one of the largest slide collections in the country devoted to architecture. Collection holdings range from Pre-Historic to Contemporary Architecture works in progress, and includes over 300 videotapes on topics ranging from art, architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design to culture and historic preservation. Photography and video equipment are available to students and faculty for use in research and project/site documentation, as well as lanternslides and photographs on related topics.

The Visual Resources Collection is a RESERVE collection, in that slides are kept on file in the room, for School of Architecture Faculty and students. Slides and other materials may be used for presentations in School of Architecture classes and for research.
